Extension of the Lauretan Jubilee

Extension of the Lauretan Jubilee

At the end of the recitation of the Holy Rosary of the Vigil of the Assumption, H.E. Msgr.Fabio Dal Cin, Pontifical Archbishop Delegate of Loreto, announced with gratitude that Pope Francis has granted the extension of the Lauretan Jubilee, linked to the hundred years of the proclamation of Our Lady of Loreto Patroness of all aeronauts, until 10 December 2021.

"I express to the Holy Father" the Archbishop says "the heartfelt gratitude, my personal, of all the military and civil Air Force, of all the faithful, Loreto, pilgrims and devotees of the Holy House for this great gift. In this difficult time for humanity, Holy Mother Church gives us another twelve months to start afresh from Christ, allowing us to be accompanied by Mary, a sign of consolation and sure hope for all ".

The Jubilee, which officially began with the opening of the Holy Door on 8 December 2019, in the presence of H.Em. Cardinal Secretary of State Mons. Pietro Parolin, thus renews for another twelve months, the experience of grace and forgiveness for all the faithful who will come to the Pontifical Shrine. This grace also extends to the many chapels of civilian airports and to the military air force bases of the world.

"In this year", continues Mgr. Dal Cin, "the Holy Father has repeatedly expressed his closeness to the Shrine of the Holy House: in his visit on 25 March 2019 where he signed the Apostolic Exhortation to Youth Christus Vivit; in the granting and extension of the Lauretan Jubilee; in the inscription on 10 December in the Roman calendar of the optional memory of the Blessed Virgin of Loreto, and finally with the inclusion in the Litany of Loreto of three new invocations Mater Misericordiae, Mater Spei and Solacium migrantium ".
